ArtKrush - The Artist Run Websiteª

Our intention was always to create something unique, while at the same time satisfying a real need. We felt the timing was right. With Artnet, the largest and most influential art e-commerce site, abandoning their attempts to auction art (losing too much $$$), and smaller sites folding left and right, we knew it would be foolish to build a site founded on selling art. In fact, what was needed was not a site for art buyers, but for visual artists Ð that spoke directly to artists. Give artists the news, articles, reviews, and interviews that matter Ð in a relaxed, stylish setting devoid of the aloofness and myopia that plagues the art world. But also make ArtKrush a valuable, hands-on resource by offering information on grants, scholarships, jobs and calls for entry. And finally, for ArtKrush to have real staying power, it must be a national site. In other words, the content must be consistently high-quality and intriguingly diverse.
