In case you thought Carol Moseley Braun was sane...

...she's decided to seek the 2004 Democratic presidential nomination!??! After her stint as a clueless senator, she thinks that America is going to elect her the first woman and black president all in one fell swoop...

Surely there is something better to spend these campaign millions on.

Her run would theoretically split the black primary vote with Sharpton, and thus negate any chance he might have had at winning, or, more importantly, having the needed vote clout to speak at the primary. So, in this respect, her run might help the Dems.
