Iraq - Disturbing Image

In the 2nd deadliest day since Bush said the war was over, yesterday 9 Americans were killed in Iraq. Four Blackwater USA employees were beaten with shovels before or after they were killed, chopped up, then hung from a bridge. Looks like it must have been a horrible way to die.

The limp media once again leave you with some fundamental questions:
- How did this really disturbing image slip past Bush's media chokehold? ...where anyone who questions the war is pilloried, and media manipulation is total. (i.e. the gag order on returning soldiers)
- Is "civilian contractor" easier to say than "war profiteer?"
- Now that civilians are being killed in symbolic ways, will other "civilian contractors" realize that their may be a major price to pay for pre-emptive war against Iraq?

Here's a cynical, orwellian graphic from the Blackwater military sales website

With pleasant imagery like this, I can't imagine why their reaction wasn't better. ("I want to experience democracy... shoot me first!")

The GOP simplistically insists that all this conflict arise from other countries envy of the U.S.. Others who aren't mindlessly spouting the party-line knows you cannot get that much hate out of someone who is simply envious.

Clueless student: Why did they do that to them?
Informed student: Well we did kill 8,000 of them. (iraqbodycount.com) How many of them do you think died pretty?

Q: How did this really disturbing image get past Bush's chokehold on the media?

A. MsNBC is a radical underground leftist party organ, working in open defiance of the Bush run US Dept of Mis-Information.
B. Your belief in a "Bush chokehold on the media" is unfounded Bush-hater hyperbole.

Or your inability to see the choke-hold, is proof that nothing but positive spin makes it through your pro-war filter.

The glee on the faces of those involved puts the lie to Bush's assertion a month or so back that the Iraqi's are glad to have us there. Can it get any worse? You bet your ass.

As Langston Hughes wrote:
What happens to a dream deferred?

Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore--
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over--
like a syrupy sweet?

Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.

Or does it explode?

I think George Bush should stop apoligizing for the "abuse" to the Iraqi prisoners. They're pigs and would do worse to us, given the opportunity. They're also the enemy so, being politically correct with the handling of them seems absurd.

They haven't been abused at all - so, what was done to them humiliated them? Good! And, it offended their Muslim faith? Good! They're the enemy! Who cares about their Muslim faith and whether or not they've been offended?

Personally, I think that since these guys like bombs and blowing things up so much, we could REALLY mess with them. Throw a few dud hand grenades into their cell and every so often, throw in a live one....just to see their reaction.

They want to see Allah so bad - I'm in favor of helping them along in this endeavor.
